The History of the Luxury Train of India
The Palace on wheels was constructed for the erstwhile Indian royalty. This heritage train of Rajasthan comprised of personal coaches of the former rulers of the princely states of Gujarat and Rajputana, the Viceroy of British India and the Nizam of Hyderabad.
After independence, the palace on wheels - the luxury train of India was abandoned and it was not until the early 1980s that the train was reconsidered. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation and the Indian Railways decided to introduce it as a special heritage tourist train to Rajasthan. Since then, the train has entertained people from all over the world.
