A journey in this royal luxurious train is an exciting experience. The tour itinerary of Palace on Wheels includes 7 Nights/8 Days of exciting voyage through some of the most wonderful destinations of India, including cities, historical monuments, wildlife sanctuaries and heritage sites. The train leaves Delhi on every Wednesday from Delhi Cantonment Railway station.

Day 01 – Wednesday – Delhi

Departure: Delhi Cantonment Railway station; Time: 17.45 Hrs.

With a warm traditional welcome to the guests, The Palace on Wheels starts from the Delhi Cantonment Railway Station at about 17.45 Hours. Dinner is served on board at about 20.00 hrs.

Day 02 - Thursday - Jaipur

Arrival: 02.00 hrs. Departure: 19.30 hrs
At about 2.00 hrs the train reaches Jaipur, where guests are greeted with traditional Sehnai recitation and Elephant parade. Lunch is scheduled at the famous Rambagh Palace Hotel in Jaipur followed by a short tour of the city, including visits to Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar, Nahargarh fort, Amber fort and other places of historical importance. The boarding time at Jaipur is 18.30hrs and right after departure dinner is served onboard.

Day 03 - Friday - Jaisalmer

Arrival: 08.15 hrs. Departure 23.00 hrs
On day 3 Palace on wheels reaches Jaisalmer, a famous tourist spot in Rajasthan well known for the golden fort made of yellow sandstones. Some other places worth seeing at Jaisalmer are The Patwon ki haveli and Nathmalji ki haveli. You can have a majestic camel ride among the beautiful sand dunes of Jaisalmer. Another attraction of Jaisalmer are the cultural programmes in the Hotels around the city where you can enjoy live Indian classical and Rajasthani folk music. Also never miss the opportunity to have a moonlit dinner on the sand dunes of the city. The train departs to Jodhpur at 23.00hrs.

Day 04 - Saturday - Jodhpur

Arrival: 07.00 hrs. Departure 15.30 hrs
On day 4 Palace on Wheels reaches Jodhpur. Jodhpur is surrounded by stonewalls from all its sides with seven gates clearly depicting the unparalled skill of the Rajput sculptors. Along with several forts you can also visit several other tourist spots, such as Moti Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Phool Mahal, Mehrangarh Fort Sileh Khana and Daulat Khana. Moreover a launch at Umaid Bhawan Palace is also worth experiencing.

Day 05 - Sunday - Sawai Madhopur

Arrival: 04.00 hrs. Departure: 10.30 Hrs
If you are a nature lover, then this journey is sure to become a memorable one because on day 5 Palace on Wheels halts at Sawai Madhopur where Ranthambore National Park is located. The wild Safari at this park will expose you with some of the rare sights of the incredible tigers, chital, deer, monkeys and other rare species.

After this, the Palace on Wheels reaches Chittorgarh, the place related to the legendry queen Padmini at 15.30 hours. Here you can visit Chittorgarh Fort, Vijay Stambh and the Kirti Stambh and move forward to the city of lakes Udaipur.

Day 06 -Monday - Udaipur

Udaipur, often known as the city of lakes is another famous destinations you will tour upon on Palace on Wheels. Its attractions are the Jag Niwas (Lake Palace) and the Jag Mandir, which appear to rise from the blue waters of Lake Pichola.

Day 07 - Tuesday - Bharatpur-Agra

Arrival: 06.30 hrs. Departure 11.45 hrs
The seventh day on Palace on Wheels has some more excitement and surprise for you. This day you will reach Bharatpur in the early morning. Just after breakfast you will be taken to Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary that houses some of the rare bird species, including migratory birds like Siberian cranes. From there at 11.45 hours, the Palace on wheels is all set to tour Agra where the most astonishing monument of love the Taj Mahal is located. Fatehpur Shikri is another legendary place you can visit and offer your prayers on the famous mosque dedicated to the Sufi Saint Sheikh Salim Chisti. After having dinner on board you are all set to start your return journey at 11.45 hrs.

Day 08 - Wednesday - Delhi

Arrival - 06.00 hrs
Now it is time to wind up your exotic journey! On the 8th day you are again on the same ted your dreamlike tplace from where you started your dream journey--The luxury train arrives at Delhi Cantt Railway station at 6 am. After a delicious breakfast on board you the legendary tour comes to an end leaving you stupefied by the uncompromising hospitality.
