Deccan odyssey TrainDaccan Odyssey, another name of luxury—a train modeled like the Palace on wheels is another precious possession of the Indian Railways that promotes tourism in the Konkan region. A fabulous journey on this magical train will take you through a dream like sojourn through Maharashtra and Goa. At Day 02: Thursday, Ganpatiphule Beach On day 2 the train halts at Ratnagiri a memorial town dedicated to renowned Indian freedom fighter and educationist Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Ganpatiphule beach at this place is the primary attraction. A lunch at the sea shore, a visit to the temple of Ganesha and back water boat cruise are some of the activities you can enjoy in this fabulous destination.. You can also see cultural program through Western Ghats in Large Fishing Vessel. Followed by dinner on board, the train departs to Sindhudurg Nagari. Day 3: Friday, Sindhudurg, Tarkarli, Sawantwadi On day three Deccan Odyssey takes you to some of the most exciting places, including Malvan Jetty where Sindhudurg, the famous fort built by king Shivaji Maharaj. Later a visit to the virgin Tarkarli Beach makes your journey more relaxing. The most memorable thing about this tour is the backwater cruise to Walaval jetty in small motorboats. And for craft aficionados a visit to Sawantwadi Shilpgram doubles the joy of the journey. You can also enjoy cooking demonstration of regional delicacies exciting cultural programs. The time of departure from this station is 1900hrs. From the Sawantwadi Railway Station the train is all set to depart for Goa. Dinner is served on board right after few minutes the train departs.
The Deccan Odyssey arrives Karmali Railway Station at around 7.30 hrs on the fourth day of the Journey. He places worth seeing at Goa include the 16th century Portugese Old Goa churches and the Latin quarters of Panjim. The reporting time for Deccan Odyssey is around 15.30 hrs at Madgoan Railway Station. From here the train sets forth to Kolhapur on 16.45 hrs with dinner following onboard thereafter. Day 05: Sunday Morning: Kolhapur Evening: Pune Kolahpur is a legendary towm with historical importance. On the fifthday of the journey the train reaches here and after having breakfast onboard you can see the ancient Palaces of Maharaja of Kolhapur converted to museums and the famous temples of Mahalaxmi and Mata Bhavani. Kolhapur is also famous for handicrafts stalls. The train sets for Pune at about11.45 hrs. After reaching Pune at about 1930 hrs, you can tour around Raja Kelkar cultural museum and other places of tourist importance in Pune. From there you set forth to Aurangabad at 21.15 hrs from Pune Railway Station. Dinner is served on board. Day 06: Monday: Aurangabad and Ellora Caves: On reaching Aurangabad you can drive to Daulatabad Hill Fort and enjoy a invigorating tour to the. Ellora Cave temples with murals of Buddhist,Hindu and Jain Gods. You are also complemented with cultural programmes during lunch at theo famous Aurangabad Taj Hotel. Other must visit places are the 17th century built Bibi-ka-Makbara. At 7.15 hrs you get back to Deccan Odyssey and start your journey to Jalgoan. Day 07: Tuesday Morning: Ajanta Caves: Ajanta Buddhist Cave frescoes dating back to 2nd century BC is another exotic view the Deccan Odyssey offers you. ON the 7th day of your journey you are at this iconic cave and from here you return to Jalgoan at about 1245 hrs and then proceed to Nasik. After the lunch on board you reach Nasik in the evening 1700 hrs.After reaching Nasik you can visit for sightseeing and enjoy the beautiful sunset oil-lamp ceremony on the banks of the Holy river Narmada. After a long day sightseeing you depart to Mumbai from Nasik Railway Station at about 2030 Hrs:Dinner is offered onboard and you are about to wind up your journey.
